I love caramel apples and this is the only way I could get my son to eat them. That's right I'd have to call them " nachos ". Kids are so picky nowadays. Also remember you can use any type of toppings you like..crushed Heath or Butterfinger candy bars, candy sprinkles, different types of chopped nuts, etc.
two green granny smith apples, cored and sliced
5 oz. caramel
1 teaspoon water
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
2 Tablespoons mini chocolate chips
1. Unwrap caramels. Place in a saucepan with one teaspoon of water over medium low heat. Stir constantly until caramels are melted.
2. Drizzle melted caramel over sliced apples.
3. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and mini chocolate chips.
